Politics and philosophy in Thunder Bay
Thunder Bay Debate Club brings people together to discuss politics, philosophy and the ideas that shape how we live. The club offers a place for local conversation: to put a question into words, explain a perspective and consider how someone else sees it. Meetings take place at Barkeep on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. Whether a current political issue or a longstanding philosophical question has caught your attention, you are welcome to bring it to the discussion.
Ideas worth discussing
A conversation might begin with a question about politics and public life, an ethical dilemma, or an idea from a book or essay. Philosophy gives us ways to examine what we believe and why; political discussion connects those questions to the choices people and communities face.
The invitation extends beyond those subjects. Bring an idea you would like to explore, a perspective you want to develop, or a question you have not yet found an answer to. There is room to think through an argument without arriving with a finished position.
